Who we are
This website is run by Liberty Wed, a husband & wife wedding photography and film studio. We decide how and why your data is handled (in legal terms, the “data controller”).

What we collect
We keep it to the minimum:
- When you send an inquiry — your name, email, wedding location and date, an approximate guest count, and anything you write in the message. You give us this yourself by filling in the form. Along with it we note the IP address it was sent from and the country that address belongs to, so we know where in the world you're writing from and can spot spam.
- If you accept cookies — Google Analytics records how you use the site: which pages and films you look at, roughly where you're visiting from, your device and browser, and whether you sent us an inquiry. It shows us how couples find us and which films they like. If you click “Decline”, no analytics cookies are set.
- When you open a private gallery — if your gallery is passcode-protected, we store one small cookie in your browser to remember that you entered the correct code, so you don't have to type it on every page. We also count visits and downloads in private galleries, with the visitor's city, so we know the couple has received their photos and films. We don't store your IP address for this: it is scrambled in a way that changes every day, so visits can't be linked to you.
- Basic server records — like any website, our host briefly logs technical data (such as IP address and browser type) to keep the site secure and running. We don't use this to identify or profile you.
What we don't do
- We don't turn on Google Analytics cookies unless you accept them.
- We don't use social-media tracking pixels, such as the Meta (Facebook) Pixel.
- Private client galleries are never sent to Google Analytics.
- We don't sell, rent, or trade your information. Ever.
Why we use it
We use the details from your inquiry only to answer you, check our availability for your date, and — if you book — to plan and deliver your wedding coverage. The gallery cookie exists purely so your private gallery works. Analytics helps us understand which pages and films are useful, so we can improve the site. In data-protection terms, the inquiry and gallery data rest on taking steps at your request and on our legitimate interest in running the studio and replying to you; analytics rests only on your consent.
The tools we rely on
A few trusted services help the site work. They only handle your data on our instructions:
- Formspree — delivers your inquiry form to our inbox.
- Vimeo — hosts the films embedded on the site. We turn on Vimeo's “do not track” setting, so it doesn't build an advertising profile from your visit.
- Google Analytics — only if you accept cookies. It shows us visitor statistics. Google may process this data outside the EU under its standard data-protection terms.
- Our website host & gallery storage — keeps the site online and stores your wedding photos and films securely.
How long we keep it
We hold inquiry messages only as long as we need them — to reply, and through your wedding if you book with us. If nothing comes of an inquiry, we delete it within a reasonable period. The gallery cookie clears itself after a short time, or whenever you clear your browser. Google Analytics keeps its statistics for a limited time (up to 14 months). You can ask us to delete your details at any point.
Changing your cookie choice
Your Accept or Decline choice is remembered in your browser. To change it, clear this site's data in your browser settings — the cookie bar will appear again and you can choose again.
Your rights
You can ask us to show you the data we hold about you, correct it, or delete it, and you can withdraw your consent at any time. Just email wed.liberty@gmail.com and we'll sort it out, usually within a few days. If you're in the EU or UK and you're ever unhappy with how we've handled your data, you also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority.
Children
This site is meant for couples planning their wedding and isn't aimed at children. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.
Changes to this page
If we change how we handle data, we'll update this page and the “last updated” date at the top. The current version always lives here.
